I always figured HHH was going to beat Flair's record, but it looks like it's going to be Cena's for the taking.

Sad thing is with Lesnar coming back for Summerslam and in need of a major program, John Cena is the only person that logically should have the belt, and eventually drop it to Lesnar at that PPV. Look at everyone else in the two matches MITB Matches. Tell me, who among them would a) be able to participate in a short angle with Lesnar that would generate some interest and b) not be buried or have momentum taken away in the process?

  • Kane? :stopitslime:
  • Roman Reigns? Would kill any momentum in the long run
  • Alberto Del Rio? :mjlol:
  • Bray Wyatt? Would require a turn and immediate loss
  • Cesaro? They go this route they blow their load on a future face Cesaro vs. Lesnar angle at another big PPV
  • Seth Rollins? Kill his momentum immediately
  • Dean Ambrose? See Rollins and Reigns
  • Dolph Ziggler? :mjlol: x 50
  • Kofi Kingston? :mjlol: x100
  • Jack Swagger? :mjlol:+:snoop:+:rudy:x1000
  • Randy Orton: Would have to turn face immediately for no reason and have any momentum taken away
  • Rob Van Dam: Has had matches with Cesaro and interactions with Heyman recently. Former champ. I'm a fan of the guy but not for the main title in 2014
The only other person that could have won the MITB and make sense as a transitional champ is Sheamus. Unfortunately for him, he's not a big enough draw against Lesnar.

WWE only counts his title wins in WCW, NWA, and WWE. All that together would still equal 20, but the WWE doesn't count two of his NWA and WCW titles reigns due to both the fukkery dealing with Flair bringing the NWA title into WCW, and unrecognized NWA title switches that took place in the 80s.
