I feel like people's song preferences on TBA mostly boil down to production and hook preferences, because arguably there ain't a single bad verse on the album. IMO most NY Rappers from that time have 1-2 out of place songs by chasing that Life After Death formula. Not even NY artists, shyt, basically everyone.

All those major artists tried to do "insert type joint" here and most of a few that were forced. The ladies joint. The club joint. The anthem joint. The posse cut. The storytelling track. Etc.

I hated Change Clothes too because it flew in the face of all the earlier marketing that I thought was dope af about how the album wouldn't have any music videos or traditional singles/album marketing. I was really hoping that it would just drop and be mostly content heavy without Jay trying to chase a radio hit.
