Jersey retirement should only be mandatory for the elite of the elite or "lifers". Everyone doesn't need their jersey in the rafters, nikka forced a trade away from there, didn't achieve anything significant there and like Chicago said, Jokic has already eclipsed his legacy there wearing the same number. 
Melo is more of a Knick than a Nugget anyway. He should campaign for them to retire his jersey there.
