This what I don't understand about atheists. I'm not very religious myself, but science can't explain where all this stuff comes from and why it seems like we the only human beings. Did we just win the lottery?
I think athiests are just as bad as religious folks. We don't know either way. We can't possibly know at this moment in time. How can you be so confident in either direction?
I believe god is absolute infinity. God can be anything. I think god is everything. I'm not religious at all. I don't believe in the man in the sky version of god. I actually despise religion. I also think athiests are ignorant and leaning on faith, which is antithetical to their supposed belief system.
I personally refer to those people as agnostics. I know their are strict definitions of athiesm that Nap and others like to point out. But in my mind true atheism is a faith. Agnosticism is not.Atheists follow the evidence at hand. We don’t claim to have knowledge about the origin of the universe or life on earth.
Unlike theists who claim to know, we think there is nothing wrong with saying “we don’t know for now, but we are working on it”.
There is no time because there is no beginning. Everything is happening at once. There are an infinite amount of you's doing an infinite amount of things. Everything you can think of, you are doing somewhere. It's crazy, but it's logical. Nothing can't create something. We know something exists because we are experiencing it right now. It could all be a dream, simulation, etc., but it doesn't matter. It is still something. If something exists there was never a time when nothing existed (because nothing can't create something). If there was never a time when nothing exists, there was never a beginning. If there is no beginning there is no "meta time (e.g., an overarching time)," because time requires a starting point. That’s why I hope reincarnation of consciousness exists. Be a shame if there are endless possibilities of lives to live and you only get one roll of the dice.
But how can something exist without having come into existence (i.e. an infinite God)?I think athiests are just as bad as religious folks. We don't know either way. We can't possibly know at this moment in time. How can you be so confident in either direction?

It's always been here. Read my post above. The only logical way something can exist in my mind is that is has existed forever, infinitely. Creation is an illusion. Same with time. Everything is happening at once and has been infinitely forever. But how can something exist without having come into existence (i.e. an infinite God)?

I'm looking more macro and bigger than that. I think god is everything. In your analogy, god must have existed forever, infinitely. There was never a time when god did not exist because nothing can't create something.
But if the universe was created by a God then said universe did not exist before God created it. Our universe and our time started, to use an analogy, when God finished coding and pressed “start”.
Not necessarily. Perhaps God could have a God.In your analogy, god must have existed forever, infinitely.
But with an infinite God, literally nothing created God.There was never a time when god did not exist because nothing can't create something.
Then that god could have a god, and you go on infinitely. It's not logical because you'll go on forever with gods creating gods. If you take that to the logical end, it makes no sense. There has to have been a master god, an infinite god, that always existed infinitely. Not necessarily. Perhaps God could have a God.
That's the point. There is no creation. It has always existed, infinitely. I know it's a difficult idea to comprehend because we are so used to believing things must create other things, but it's an illusion. Think of 4D time and physics. Then take that to 5D. I think you'll eventually come to the conclusion that something must have been here infinitely and there is not linear time like us humans experience. It's a fun thought experiment. I have spend years and years, decades, thinking about this. In my 20s I made it my life goal to figure out what was going on existentially. The infinite idea is a result of that and satisfies my desires to understand existence. I think it is the answer. But with an infinite God, literally nothing created God.
