people asked to defund the police to seek OTHER ALTERNATIVES to dealing with crime and rehabilitation. Police got offended and said they would start falling back... Crime starts trending up. The idea of defunding police takes a silent back seat even by it's supporters. Cops end up looking vindicated. This has all transpired in less than 2 years. Criminals have COMPLETELY ERODED all the good will that was being harnessed for change and legal reform. Now we are back to reflecting fondly on tough crime bills. This isn't on anyone but the pieces of shyt running up crime stats. They have deboed all the momentum and set progress back.

If everyone isn't on the same page in the same state of mind this is what happens. you ever try to row a canoe that has more than one passenger without co-ordination you gonna end up going in circles or wasting a lot of energy with no motion. this is what we look like and have looked like for a long time. That's literally besides the point because hindsight is 20/20. Black people in Black communities are being victimized by Black people and brothers like you think telling the victims that the people robbing them need jobs and opportunities will help them sleep better at night. They want to be able to sit on their porches in peace and will eventually reach a point where they're at peace with what's inevitably coming.

The point here is that the victims of these crimes want something, anything to be done about the crime that's plaguing their communities.

Advocate for reparations and eliminate the economic trauma and you would see a reduction in crime.


I agree with you we need to reduce violent crime in the black community but I don't know if mass incarceration will do that.


But yeah violent criminals need to get severely punished.
