I don't personally have a problem with Chief Keef. I've never met him nor spoke to him. All I know about him is from his music and his videos.
You could definitely look at it and say "he's making his money." I can't disagree with that. Hip Hop is a form of entertainment, and he has a fan base which cements his relevance.
I'm more disappointed with the culture that this music represents. But then again I'm from a different age demographic. Hip hop has always had it's gangster rap. But like I said, my age plays a significant role in my opinion because I'm quite sure my parents said the same thing about the music I listened to and the artist's I was a fan of. Now that I'm older and wiser, I'm grateful that I wasn't heavily influenced by the music I listened to. The music is a reflection of the culture, and it is the glorification of the culture that scares me, because we always want our kids to do better, and it seems like it's getting worse.
Actually our community is doing a lot better than it was 20 yrs ago (although we still need to do better tho

I along with other fans like me do listen to gangsta rap but are we commitin the shyt keef and gbe is rapping about? Of course not. My pops and uncles were huge fans of NWA, Easy E, Biggie and other gangsta rap groups from the 80s but they werent committing the crimes that these rappers were rapping about either

I feel that ppl demonize Keef solely off the fact of Lil Jojo being murdered but are forgetting the fact that Jojo killed, shot and beat up a lot of innocent people before getting murked
