Not going to weigh in on the porn star, but I'm from San Diego, and close friends are in this industry and have been for years, I know all sides of it, from the corner dispensaries to the corporate looks, to the guy from my neighborhood who got 100 months for running shops. My friends are mixed levels in the game, some will own shops, some will be corporate. I have really mixed feelings.
I've invested, likely will further invest, but I really have conflicts. Dispensaries are just like liquor stores, for the most part, they will target poor communities and minorities, and many corporations as white, and button down, as you can imagine will make a lot of money from them.
I was close to getting a shop myself, in a deal, and was weighing the realities, the deal never went through, but I would have been selling in the same community I grew up in. Obviously, as a percent owner, I'd take a cut, not like I'm behind the counter, but it weighed on me. Can I do enough good with the money to justify it? Can I make enough to give back in a real way to those communities? Is it worth it?
That shyt DOES NOT help the underclasses in any way. It preys on their weaknesses and conditions. My friend made close to a M off his shop before they came for him, I'd say 80% of his business was living at or below the poverty line. That doesn't sit well with me.
-You can get OZ's for 50 dollars, closer to $100, and it's not real good quality. It's outdoor, from up north usually, packs for like 1200. Real fire are going to be 150-400, depending on a variety of factors.
