what would make you think that they would be able to get reparations from the same government that refused to acknowledge them as citizens of this country where they would get their basic civil rights or even be able to go to certain parts of the country or towns? are you even aware of the whole issue of segregation in itself? there was NO such thing as separate but equal.

I actually agree with some of this. I asked a question last week in the Ferguson thread: How are our black ppl worse off than we were before we got our rights?

But it has nothing to do with white ppl. That's all of us as a ppl

I'm sure civil rights era black folk would think it was worth it just to be able to gain access to resources. Being able to have kids in the same schools is huge think about how underfunded "inner city" schools are now. I feel like the older folks hedged their bets on the literacy of our generation
