A friend just called me mentioning she got caught up in an ice raid and got beaten and arrested. I'm not sure what to do. I'm in a completely different state. Does anyone have any advice?

She contacted you because you probably are one of the numbers she knows by heart and knows that you have access to her people somehow. Sounds like she is wrong since you asking us what to do but that’s what she expects I imagine.
Contact her family or friends that can contact her family. Make them aware that she was taken into custody. Use FB if you need to.
There won’t be any information about court dates but they are holding people at their Bridgeview site for processing.
Post her name in the Chicago thread and maybe someone knows her.

I'm not exactly sure what it was for, she was speaking in a panic, but she's not an immigrant, so I doubt its the former.
Home girl cooked. Maybe she get detained and let go at best. Ice not playing. It was a few coli brehs in the following thread talking about possibly being deported.
Could reach out to a progressive/ liberal media outlet and tell them this story and hope they cover it.
Are you an attorney or in law enforcement? If not, how are you supposed to help? And to piggyback off that, how are we supposed to know what you're supposed to do?
its not necessary about you knowing what to do. I was just asking in case anybody did. You know how if you're on a plane, they ask if there's a doctor aboard.
What to do about what though? You haven't said why she called you, or what she asked you to do.
