What do y’all suggest doing with kids who are most at risk of committing crimes?
There needs to be holistic approach and media campaign promoting trades along with an investment into schools to run workforce development programming.

Damn near need to have a mascot or influencers that work in trade/union and utility companies that can share their story and connect with kids without options. I'm working on doing this with the electric company at the high school I went to.

They already have the framework for the program because they have done it with other areas and with HS age kids. Just a matter of connecting dots and providing opportunities for kids to get transferrable skills and attain in HS and immediately start making great money out of HS.

Provide mental/emotional support programs, after school programs, etc. If being provided all of that and they still commit crimes they need to be taken off of the streets. I would rather them go to a military school or something other than jail, but they need to be away from the public. It only takes a few bad actors to fukk up a lot in the community. Also start penalizing parents of children that are repeat offenders, the dysfunction starts at home.
well america needs to invest in military schools all across the hoods of America, but will they invest into poor hood kids is the ?

As a kid, would you steal money from a store if they had it all on the counter instead of in a register? Would you steal out of a department store if there was no security or cameras?

At some point right and wrong has to come into play. Regardless of how easy something is to do, if it is illegal you should not be doing it.
I wouldn't steal it either way because of the morals my parents instilled in me

Mayor is right though. They couldn't do a full recall, but should have alerted owners to come in and do exactly what he said.

It was an absolutely horrible design and Kia/Hyundai should be held responsible to some degree.

I’m just not sure if it will stand up in court.

Or…..how about people don’t steal shyt that doesn’t belong to them? :ohhh:

I rather have the hardheads and troublemakers removed from the community and their parents made to economically and potentially legally suffer. Plenty of kids not committing crime being terrorized by gangs and general pieces of shyt. We spend too much energy trying to fix the garbage amongst us when we need to protect the ones that want to do better. Addition by subtraction. Without the violent criminals making life hell for the rest, life would improve dramatically.

Ok so mandatory after school programs, still it’s similarities, people who shyt on after school programs would shyt on military school too

And I’m not trying to disagree with you I’m just saying people’s mentalities when it comes to kids is jacked up
Breh he’s talking about making them join the army ..not some school shyt.

And that is the point. The vast majority of people understand right from wrong but some still commit these crimes because they want to. Even if you had shyt parents , you know that stealing cars is a crime. You know that robbing people is a crime. Only trying to make crime harder to commit is a failing proposition because there would still be people willing to be antisocial and commit said crimes. Those that do it need to be off the street for a long time, no slap on the wrist shyt.

These corporate giants are usually very greedy and always try to squeeze every bit of income and cash they can get in their hands, if the suit has merit the court will decide but count me as one not to give the corporations the benefit of the doubt in business

This does not make Chicago look good at all. Basically the mayor is waving the white flag on crime
Chicago isn't the only city suing the companies and he's not doing this instead of working on other stuff.

Cars have been getting stolen since cars were a thing.

If a major design flaw is brought to the attention of a manufacturer that puts its owners' safety and property in jeopardy, should the manufacturers just get to say, "Nah :unimpressed: "

If it came out that there was a security flaw that allowed someone to pull all the data off of someone's iPhone using a simple ass cable, of course people shouldn't be taking someone's data, but Apple needs to do something to fix the flaw.
