Assuming the city gets a Super Bowl after this opens, I’m assuming it’ll be a hassle to get to the game and ain’t much out there besides the stadium (and whatever will surround it)?
There’s a train that goes out there and they’re going to build a ton of shyt out there to go with the stadium.

My guess is on game day they’ll increase service.

It's a dead suburb. Most of them in Chicagoland are with some exceptions (Oak Park, Evanston, jump to mind). You'll be around 45min from the Loop area during the daytime in normal traffic conditions, imagine the gameday.

It will be a hassle because car is your only real option, and they haven't redone the highways yet to account for stadium traffic. Basically what they have now, except you'll have nowhere else to enjoy the time for the crowds to thin.

Shame this is happening because suburban fatasses can't walk the 30min to Soldier, or take the shuttles. I bet they'd want a drive-in style stadium if they could. :scusthov:

CAR ISNT THE ONLY REAL OPTION AT ALL.

AS MENTIONED EARLIER
THE UP-NW METRA WILL DROP
YOU OFF 500 FEET FROM THE STADIUM

the metra train that goes out there originates from olgilvie, so unless u live downtown, you will have to find means to get downtown in order to take the train out to arlington heights.

maybe if the kennedy is fixed by then, the expressway will be a viable mode of transport on game days as well.

This.

Didn't know the Arlington Heights shyt was back on.

Bears playing in a dome is the epitome of goofy tho.

Who's footin the bill? And what happens with Soldier Field?

the bears are paying for the new stadium. but they are bytching about getting tax breaks right now.

soldier field is owned by the park district and the bears still have like 10 years left on the lease to that stadium.

they will keep it and still use it for concerts, college football, soccer, and maybe a couple NHL games each year for the winter classic.

They want a Super Bowl, maybe Wrestlemania and year round entertainment there

yep, NFL teams seeking new stadiums are building stadiums with roofs so they can get the SB, Final Four, Concerts, Etc

Washington and Cleveland are doing the same thing. I think Denver and Kansas City want a dome stadium also

IF YOURE COMING FROM THE CITY
THAT ONE LINE IS ALL YOU NEED
UNLESS YOU WANT TO SIT IN TRAFFIC

Really depends from where you're coming from. Having one suburban line already some stops deep into it service all the travel routes of Chicagoland isn't ideal at all. If you only need to get into the Loop, great? But the Loop station connects are the only way for north/south travel on Metra, and that will increase travel times for anyone not in a ritzy N/NW suburb. Hell, you don't even get decent west/east options up north now that I think about it.

Imagine the hell it is going to be if you're up near Loyola or something. No buses going that far to meet the Metra line going west, so you have to make it to the Loop, then back out NW into the burbs. It is a colossal time waste.

If things stay as they are, you're better off doing local streets in a car in the majority of situations outside Metra to Loop, which is significantly worse than what they are currently.
