I'm black, around $1500 give or take. Don't care if I'm around whites or blacks. I just want to be around a bunch of bullshyt. Bus routes, bars, and not too far from downtown (30 minutes on a bus) because that's where I believe my job is.

Wicker Park, Lake view, Humboldt, Ukrainian Village, Hyde Park, Chinatown or Bronzeville. You can stay off Dearborn and State or maybe Streeterville on the "give" side of $1500.

Move to Oak park or forest park.15 min train ride to downtown and you bordering the city you can get a luxury pad for 1500

OP should also mention if he has a car. you don't wanna live downtown if u have a car or you're gonna pay a fortune to park it.

also, a lot of the neighborhoods mentioned are a nightmare if you have to park on the street. I'd advising finding a place in an area with ample parking or a building with parking included.
