You can’t be easily fooled by numbers just being thrown out there.
You need to know what the schools budget was based on, the pool of money allocated to go there, and what they actually received.
You also need to know where the pool of money used to support various immigrants comes from, and its budget. It’s not like Illinois just started paying for services for immigrants in 2022. So if the budget to pay for those services was 600 million and you spent 638 million then that 38 million dollar budget shortfall ain’t got shyt to do with what’s happening with the school districts. At that point the only reason for the story to be worded as is, is to drum up more negative sentiment towards immigrants.
People with agendas try to play games with news articles all the time. In Atlanta we have an entertainment tax that was created exclusively to charge people staying in hotels in the city, to pay for further improvements for tourist based activities. But whenever a budget shortfall appears somewhere else people start screaming about how that hotel tax money needs to be used to pay public servants. But you can’t do that, because that’s not what the tax was created for. And if you steal that money, the tax will be rescinded in the next budget and then you are back at square one.
And let’s be clear, it’s some rich crackers playing both sides here. They are hiring illegals to do cheap work for them, knowing damn well they have children who need to be educated, healthcare needs, etc…but at the same time they don’t want to pay taxes to pay for everything the immigrants need to support themselves.
