Everyone back home tells me to leave but I swear I never see/experience this shyt. And that's the sad part.... the majority of this type of crime happens on the south and west sides. I only swing that way when Im really feenin soul food and be hella alert when I do it. Sad too because there are definitely a lot good, law abiding citizens out that way.

But on average, most of the crime that gets sensationalized is in the worst sectors of the city(Austin, Englewood, Roseland) And it's mostly gang shyt. Luckily I live right between edgewater and uptown so it's not too bad. All they need is some police presence.

Reread my post. The areas I list are the ones I'm saying can be problematic just not as bad as the south and west sides.

Pilsen's art district makes it more livable, but aside from the 18th - 21st corridor, you are correct. But that's basically what I originally said.

unless you can afford to live east in pilsen, closer to halsted, I wouldn't do it. but then again, for the price those homes command, I'd live in a better community overall..
