it's very simple. i said it in another thread. put the guns down. pick up books. go to school. learn to read, to write, to do math. acquire knowledge. go to college. earn degrees in promising fields. start businesses or get hired by others and make good money that can be channeled back into the chicago community.

They closed 50 schools in Chicago....you can't preach that "get educated" talk to people who are seeing the underfunded places of education that they did have, get taken away.....unemployment rates up to 40% in some neighborhoods on the southside, it's not like these kids even get anything close to a fair shot to make it.

Dudes always talking about how the suburbs have it better but nobody wants to live like the suburbs. In the suburbs a child out after 10 pm is outrageous. In the suburbs not sending your kid to school means you are a complete piece of shyt and you get treated as such. breh, it is that simple. what prevents them from doing everything i said? are they bound to those streets? are they prevented from taking buses into the city and visiting the library? is there a law against them reading books? yes, everything you've cited exists in EVERY hood across america. chicago isn't unique. go to st. louis or brooklyn or any other hood and you'll find a dearth of resources that benefit the growth of those communities. that doesn't mean that there aren't opportunities and avenues to escape that hell. people do it every single day. all it takes is a conscious decision to put the guns down and pick up the books. that's ALL it takes. that's not naivete speaking. it's just common sense.

i almost moved to chicago last year downtown is hella nice, and what i pay for rent here in the bay area for a small ass apartment gets me a luxury high rise condo in the streeter building

i didnt move cuz of the weather -8 degrees in january . ive never experienced shyt colder than 25 degrees
