For years I was wondering what's causing the high homicide rate in Chicago but now I have somewhat of a clear understanding after a little bit of research. From what I gather it seems that Chicago's murder rate is caused mainly by drugs that are being brought in from Mexico. The article I read said about 3 billion dollars a year of drug money goes out of Chicago into the pockets of cartels.

If I'm wrong please correct me because I know there are plenty of people from Chicago on here who may be in the streets but my research says that the ongoing violence shootings that we hear about mainly involved blacks between Hispanics fighting over drug territory. again if I'm wrong please correct me but if this is the case I'm kind of curious to why the brothas in Chicago have not spoken out and said that they are at war with the Mexican cartels .

so I salute the brothas in Chicago for Taking it to them hat dancers.

I'm just waiting for the day any of these Hispanic or Mexican cartels kick up dust on the East Coast so I will be justified in putting a few of them fools in the dirt

The main reason is that there is a high concentration of people in the city, who have a shoddy upbringing with no respect for authority and boundaries, who have NOTHING to do all day.

Eventually they get into trouble(either because they seek it out or it finds them) and that leads to violence, netting homicides.

Simple response: Some of its drugs, but most of it is just people arguing over dumb things because they have nothing else to do and someone gets shot.

I'm not going to get into spaces where I have the potential to get shot, I gotta go to work in the morning.

Vice versa. I ain't trying to shoot nobody and have to pay all my money to a lawyer to handle the case.

i got into with a chicago nikka on this forum about this topic. dude was trynna tell me californians are getting punked by mexicans. where as, i tried to explain to him chicago drug scene is being ran by those very same mexicans.

Crime and murder has been steadily going down since 2005, with only 1 spike(still historically low number for Chicago, in 2012) in Chicago, dont let Chief Keef and Lil Durk music get in the way of facts and reality of a city already in the process of an incredible crime drop that cities like Detroit, Oakland and Newark can only wish for.

I honestly believe its an agenda to show case the bull shyt going on in Chicago because the president is from there and of course these drill rap artists n shyt. But the grass has been greener in Chicago for almost a decade(at least from the outside looking in)

I'm 31, so I'm not in the streets, but from what I gather, yes, it's drugs. It's always drugs. The cartels are heavy here. The Latino population is very large. No one is to blame though. The thirst for drugs and the government's response is the biggest problem, IMO when it comes to drug based violence

Chicago is actually a safe city, outside the drug zones. Drug territory fuels the violence. (Yes, I know, poverty fuels the drug shyt as well, but drugs ain't helping)
