Hypothetically what if they meet up and she destroys his phone on "accident." Knocks it into some water, onto the pavement, etc. Then next day she makes the HR claim. Takes some time to get the phone fixed/replaced and you might lose some text messages...meanwhile you're dealing without HR on your ass. Not good.
