Nothing wrong with it. It kills me how people just discredit people's opinions because they don't list big pac nas jay as there inspirations. Generation of today grew up on Wayne/Dipset/State Prop/G-Unit.
Well in one sense you're right, I remember people being in a uproar when drake said he will cry when jay dies but he didn't cry over pac. Wasn't a diss, he just didn't have that connection to pac and was too young.

From a sports perspective, Ben Simmons will be the #1 pick in the NBA draft, now imagine him saying he hasn't watch Jordan on tape, or he didn't really follow kobe, he would get crucified. Keef is a horrible rapper so I don't expect him to go in reverse and be a student of the game.

That's why this is a horrible era for rap from a "new rappers" perspective. These guys coming up now are not mastering their craft. It's hard to believe now but at one point in jr high school and H.S. I REALLY wanted to be a rapper, I grew up listening to it my whole life, one of my earliest memories as a child is hearing MC shan's "project ho", I always thought dude was the flyest rapper. I studied rakim, G-rap and kane even though I was in the era of the 90s because I wanted to play around with different styles.

But I also wanted to see who came before Pac, nas, eazy, dre, big, wutang, bone, 'face and others.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I heard 1 biggie and 1 pac song on my drive home from work yesterday and I live in Canada.
Exactly. I don't care what you doing in life. No way you been hearing hip hop for 10 years plus and only heard 1 song out of each

Their birthdays and death days alone is full fukking round the clock airplay. Let alone having older heads play it around you or people posting shyt online

I figure he meant he only knew the lyrics to or some shyt. Ain't no damn way in the world

I feel like pacs music resonates with african americans (outside of new york)more than biggies music.

Biggie was a better rapper though imo:yeshrug:
I agree entirely Biggie was a prodigal MC dude was blessed Pac resonated with his passion though despite BIG's incredible talent he had nowhere near the passion that Pac displayed. I try to love them both equally for whatever reason.

I mean the only way you are gonna know alotta joints by artists of eras before you is if you actually feel them then actively go search for more of their music. Which in the case of Pac and Biggie, is kind of ludicrous that you wouldn't be really impressed by their music and wanna learn more.

Not true,...
Gucci used east coast pr and liasons.
to exclusively blow after fat cat admin issues and blow from the wilt chamberlain, no pad no pencil era.

I'm out here born and raised out here, Gucci never been big in NYC the chances of you finding a Gucci Mane stan in NYC are slim.

Most of these nikkas jacking Gucci are posers latching onto his incarceration. I'm sure Gucci used East Coast PR to get fans out here but he was never one of the most bumped artist here. When the Wilt Chamberlain tapes came out we were bumping Max B, he was our Gucci.

Ain't no 25 year old from NY/NJ being raised on Gucci Mane saying he don't know Jay-Z or Nas songs.

Getty is a hop skip and jump away from the mecca.
Chief keef is from Inglewood, totally different.
There was never a cultural permeation for hiphop in his area.
He would never in general be exposed to what the culture was in general by someone.
Y'all think the culture permeates that deep.
I been told y'all this culture is another higher prescient consciousness.
Most people have no concern for culture let alone actual hiphop culture.
Being a bboy is real cultural shyt.
not just rapping or being a fan of commercial rap.

Art Barr
Man i don't know im not from a really "hip hop" town but me and plenty of people know about hip hop culture, even though they were dead big and pac were the biggest rappers while i was growing up cause g unit rocafella, dipset and the whole rap game was bigging them up and they still got spins on the radio but i feel you on that last part. Being fans of commerical rap isn't cultural
