Its not that farfetched of an idea. When you become as big as an artist as Jay, Kanye, and Wayne you lose a certain connection that you had to a certain fanbase. By "cosigning" an artist who is up n buzzing your making an attempt to to try and connect back with that fanbase, now do I think this what Kanye was doing? No, like already stated I think he just heard a song that he liked and was buzzing and just remixed it nothing more, nothing less.
