It’s only happened last year and this year because the first Friday of the month landed inside Week 1 of the season.

Legally won’t be able to happen again til 2029 after this game.

NFL Friday games are restricted by the 1961 Sports Broadcasting Act, which prohibits broadcasts of professional football games on Friday nights (after 6 p.m.) and Saturdays from the second Friday in September to the second Saturday in December to protect high school and college football attendance.The NFL can, however, schedule a Friday game in early September if Labor Day falls on the first three days of the month, allowing the first Friday of the season to occur before the Act's restriction period begins. Black Friday games are also an exception, as they take place in the afternoon, avoiding prime time and thus not conflicting with the Act.

I’m okay with the NFL transitioning to Amazon, Netflix and YouTube just on picture quality alone. We shouldn’t have to deal with 720 quality in 2025
