They did the same thing to Mad Max, but shyt was blowing up so much most people coudln't see
Nah. Mad Max wasn't feminist, it just made a woman the hero and played with the trope of women being objects to be won.
Furiosa was a flawed and human character, not some feminist statement. It wasn't like she was written to stronger, more useful, or better than Max.
If i never knew anything about Mad max then sure it is a good film, but knowing about mad max prior I went in expecting a Mad Max film and a story where he was the center. Literally you remove his character and the movie is not much different. They would have been better off just calling this Fury Road and calling Mad Maxs role a "cameo". That being said the movies story was extremely simple so pretty much this movie was just amazing cinmatography and a strong female lead, nothing wrong with that but dont sell it to people as being a Mad max film when it wasnt.
Eh, the two sequels of Mad Max are actually pretty similar to Fury Road. Max kinda wanders into the middle dispute that he doesn't really understand, tries to survive, and then ends up helping the people that he thinks he agreed with.
Max is usually the protagonist and the story is seen through his eyes but he's not really the focus of the plot. He's just in the middle of it but Fury Road is a lot like that. He just kinda gets caught in the middle of a crazy situation and he's just trying to survive.
