We?
The government should’ve held these corporations accountable and found some way to incentivize domestic production or penalize outsourcing
Expecting everyone to boycott Nike cause of sweatshop labor is unrealistic

we all did this my friend it's not on the governments or corporations alone. everyone plays a hand, even you the CONSUMER.

It's the truth

China hacked American greed and it's our fault as much as it is those in power

If you can acknowledge the govt needing to hold corporations accountable you should be able to acknowledge that no one wants to pay $200 for a pair of jeans or $3000 for a phone

Convenience ALWAYS wins
Convenience? People in this country live paycheck to paycheck, they’re not gonna magically start shopping ethically just to go even deeper in debt
For a lot of these products these ethical alternatives exist in such small quantities that everyone couldn’t shop ethically even if they could afford and wanted to
What are some companies that sell ethically made smartphones, clothing?

that shyt aint out the goodness of their hearts breh, they got 1 billion people. Those chinese officials living good though..
This is always a flawed point. It don't matter

No politician, official, dictator, president does anything out of the kindness of their heart so its a mute point and slick the reason nikkas get played so much during election time

Your job as a citizen is to get the best you can out these fukks. Who cares how they end up with low cost of living

But even if you are already rich, already a ceo it is in your best interests for more people to buy your stock and your products. It doesn't make sense to fight legislation that might cost you money in the short term but then explode your gains in the long term. If I'm a tobacco company, legal weed means I can now sell blunts and joints. If I'm an oil company, govt subsidies in renewable is a gold mine for me to corner the market with my existing funds and buy up land for solar panels, windmills and invest in charging equipment at my gas stations. I'm riding the new wave and cashing out on it.

When people aren't saddled down by student loans and having to live paycheck to paycheck because they can't afford medication or rent theyll buy tesla. Theyll invest in stocks. When you pay them more they will spend more. Even racist ass Henry Ford knew that its stupid to have employees building products they cant afford

It might be but your interests are superseded by your shareholders,
creditors and the analysts who rate your stock every 3 months. Your
compensation is heavily tied to the stock price as well and your examples
while great overlook the one thing the C-Suite tries to mitigate at all costs....

RISK

You are the CEO of a large company not a startup...innovation and
disruption are for startups not conglomerates. So you have to play it safe
or you risk a board takeover by activist investors, internal power struggles
and a falling stock price if you fail...

That's why you bribe politicians to keep the gravy train going and also
acquire startups to either crush competition or soak up talent.

china is not known for innovation they borrow steal and copy to get where they got
In trade wars of 200 years ago, the pirates were Americans

WASHINGTON (AP) — The upstart nation was a den of intellectual piracy. One of its top officials urged his countrymen to steal and copy foreign machinery.
Across the ocean, a leading industrial power tried in vain to guard its trade secrets from the brash young rival.

In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the rogue nation was the United States. The official endorsing thievery was
Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton. And the main victim was Britain.
