That still doesn't really say anything about what us the people go through though

First it will look like finance capital attempting to hurt China through sanctions but failing because China doesn't need the US financial system for anything. Then it'll likely be some sort of military hissy fit that wastes a ton of money and time while China and Russia laugh at us flailing around. Then it will look like rebuilding of self sustaining local industry modeled after China. And we'll look back at the rentier era of American domination with disgust.

In the short term it looks like America pulling out every trick in the book to make the rest of the world continue paying us economic rent of various sorts until everyone has fully stopped using the dollar and it loses its status as the reserve currency. Then everyone here gets to build a self sustaining economy from scratch.
