and the people that work there are not "walmart" their pawns. Walmart is filthy rich. Just like any other nation, China is a corporation, China will continue to get richer it citizens (employees) won't benefit from that.

The point is from a perspective of power and economic dominance, all of this is irrelevant. They are already skewing our cost of living, access to goods etc. They have already employed several destabilization tactics in the last 2 years and their wealth affords them the ability to do so.
We live in a global economy. China destabilizing America is like deplyoing nukes. Everyone would be fukked.

we all got them there with our collective love of their cheap mostly inferior products

congratulations to everyone

all of my cameras, drones, gimbals come from there, DJI and nobody can compete in quality or price. Their smartphone manufactures are cornered the market globally offering bleeding-edge features at a competitive price. They are about to put a dent in the auto manufacturing industry.

I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner

Financial deregulation and nafta
2 pointless wars

Tax cuts for the wealthy instead of investing in labor

All those things were nails in the coffin for the American dollar. Wages aren't keeping up with costs, the average American is living off debt by making less than what they can afford. This economy requires consumption of stupid shyt that people don't need, but the thing is, rich people spend more on luxury services like cooks, drivers, private doctors and nurses, teachers etc. Than they do on clothes or cars. That's new money shyt, and America is creating less millionaires by refusing to invest heavily in lifting people out of the conditions that keep them poor.

All they can do is try to keep interest rates low but with inflation and the cost of goods going up and peoples ability or willingness to stay in debt going down, they have to do something drastic or else we will have another recession or worse, a straight up depression until radical action is taken.

There are a few things off the top of my head that can help change course:
1. Cancel student loans that are over 40k
2. Nationwide legalization of cannabis with a federal tax on the good and states can tax the sale of the goods too.
3. Investment in high speed rail, electric busses, and incentives for cities to design for people and not cars. Put the parking lots underground and build rental only properties so families, retired poor seniors and young people can afford housing and won't have to go homeless.
4. A public option for Healthcare. If I'm not spending an arm and a leg for medicine, I'm going out to eat or buying some new clothes or tech.

They know that they need to do these things but would rather live in denial for as long as possible. I wonder if they'll keep that same energy with mass strikes and people refusing to work until they can actually live an existence that isn't paycheck to paycheck.

people can compete with the quality NOT price

cost to scale manufacture. they turned their country into an automated manufacture hub for the world. they are efficient at it and unbeatable on that front NOT QUALITY

China is to countries what walmart and amazon are to other retailers

CONVENIENCE is killing all of us and we will go down disgruntled but in comfort not in protest. we want the cheap and we want it fast to our own detriment and eventual demise

We?
The government should’ve held these corporations accountable and found some way to incentivize domestic production or penalize outsourcing
Expecting everyone to boycott Nike cause of sweatshop labor is unrealistic

Gonna be worse when they start fully selling cars here….already got Chinese-owned Volvo and Polestars selling here and they building Teslas there now. Matter of time before they start shipping some Teslas over here to help the backlog. Lots of GM small vehicles are China made. They’ve been sneaking in under the radar for a long time and a pure Chinese brand ain’t far away in this market…

The car EV market from China, is gonna be very reminiscent when the Japanese took over in the 70s and 80s.

They break it down here
