This is alarming. As more of these events occur people are going to come up with all types of wacky conspiracy theories to explain it.

The reality is that humans have created a civilization dependent on reckless resource extraction and infinite growth. Anyone with half a brain should realize this isn't sustainable on a planet with finite resources. Goverment, corporations, and even academia have all failed when comes to conveying the severity of climate change. The conspiracy theory is NOT that climate change is some liberal plot to usher in socialism. The real conspiracy is that we've been misled by almost ALL of our instituions about how bad it really is.
