So the US CEOs need more money and less regulation to compete
No.
The government needs to hire the best scientists this country produces and give them a blank check to work on this like the Manhattan project.
People don't know that a lot of the technology we use today like the internet itself was started by the government. ARPANET is the proof of concept the DOD used to link computers together to share information faster. That eventually became the internet. GPS, mobile phones, Teflon, etc. All started as government funded projects.
The profit motive doesn't drive big business to invent and innovate. We are at a stage where all they do with that extra money is make a few small changes to existing products they sell, then jack up the price. The rest of the money goes into stock buybacks, bonuses for managers and dividends for investors. They have zero need to ACTUALLY make any tangible products because they want to seek rents by making things into subscriptions or building them poorly while making them just expensive enough that it would cost more to fix than to buy new.
What we need is real leadership that focuses on new ideas and a VISION for America. We have people who think in three month business quarters in charge instead of people who plan for YEARS in advance. I laughed at the guy who said china has secret plans. That's how I knew he's used to talking to dumbass investors who don't actually read. China's plans aren't secret. They WANT people to know they're working on this shyt. This is a flex to them and they're laughing at us. How could they not? Look at the fukking clown show our government has become. This is the absolute best type of propaganda for authoritarian governments. All China has to say is "hey, at least here you won't die in the streets because you cant afford health insurance" or "hey, at least here you won't have to see the dumbest people alive rising to the top and making their retarded opinions official policy" America's idiocy is hurting pro democracy movements around the world.
