Sounds like China is gearing up for the geopolitical shift of resources that is already happening and the impending fall of Western Civilization.
Looking at what Western Civilization has created over the past 500 years--poverty, war, turmoil, sickness, and destruction--it's clear that the Western way of doing things doesn't work. The sociopolitical system of Western Civilization is crumbling before our eyes. It is responsible for the environmental and social destruction of communities and countries all over the planet. Almost all of the problems experienced across the modern world can be traced back to the attempted physical and/or cultural implementation of Western Civilization in foreign land. The large majority of people in the world still live in abject poverty--in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The only people who have benefited from Western ideals are North Americans (not including Mexico), Western Europeans, and Australians--the world's minority. Everybody else is extremely poor for the most part. Here's the thing--the majority of the world's population and natural resources are housed outside of the West. People are waking up to seeing this. And what we're starting to see with all the conflict internationally is the rebound effect to Western control and that rebound effect is starting to land on Western Civilization's doorstep in the form of terrorism and internal dischord. The West is about to be over. And China, who doesn't allow the west to control their media, is smart enough to see this and is beginning to set itself up elsewhere and beginning to partner with allies for the future civilization that will exist on this planet, because Western Civilization is over. It is crumbling like a Jenga tower last touched by Western leaders in brutal slow motion and all we can do is watch it happen. In the context of our individual 60-100 years each of us has on the planet we probably won't see the result of the fall, but in the context of history hundreds of years from now, they'll be talking about how Western Civilization began crumbling in the era all of us are living in now.
Western Civilization is about to be over. China can see that and is gearing up to establish new trade partners while also building infrastructure for the people they will need to trade with in order to maintain their own economy which will rely on tech made out of raw materials that exist in large supply in Africa. China sees that physical and economic domination doesn't work, so it doesn't benefit them to treat Africans like garbage and steal their resources through force or trickery. They see what it will lead to--world conflict and terrorism at their doors. They know they can't maintain their own civilization like this, so instead they're establishing infrastructure in the lands they want to trade with. This is SMART. And to be honest, the people who will benefit the least from China's move into Africa will be white folks which is why Western media portrays Asians as this mysterious, cold, and calculated group of people that should be feared. The irony here is Westerners are the cold and calculated ones that should be feared. But what's really happening is that the time of white folks running this planet are over. They neither have the population in numbers, the resources, the political ideals, or the culture to sustain their power. They're getting scared and it's evident in their politics on both a macro and micro-level. They're done and they know it but they're afraid to admit it to themselves--but it's clear that it's happening if you take a step back and take a look at the big picture. Western Civilization is about to be done and over with and white people will probably end up on the bottom of the social ladder where black people are now. That's poetic justice for you.
That's how I see it anyway.
oh they will expect one. By the time their Multinational corporations spring up all over Africa that ROI won't matter. Africa is so rich and fertile you can have 100 different Monsanto like companies, not to mention all that land and natural resources to build huge military industrial facilities, academic think-tanks, and consumer technology plants
