Someone asked how China is doing good

Where else would African countries get any funding to do projects. It's like going to a bank to ask for money to start a bhsiness and putting your house up for collateral and then getting mad at the bank for taking the house when your business fails and goes belly up . You took the risk.

I hate to see these African countries get bent over but they signed the deals, they knew what would happen. ..fukk em

'Low interest loans' that balloon exponentially when defaulted placing other things as collateral in jeopardy?:mjlit:
These practices are similar to good ole sub prime lending...entice the borrower w/good faith, fixed loan repayments, while knowing damn well they'll be inconsistent -fully count on inability to keep up with the payments, further keeping them in a cycle of debt.

Exactly. Not only are the Chinese swindlers who look to take advantage of anyone's weakness, or oversight, they are notorious cheap skates and penny-pinchers that will do whatever to save a dollar, even if that means faulty manufacturing.

Don't see what you're complaining about . These countries know what they are getting into , blame the leaders 100%. If you ask me for a loan, I'm going to ask for high interest and your for collateral, if you took my money and cant Pay it back I'm taking your car as agreed, don't give a fukk if you can't get around . How is that my fault. Own up to your poor decisions

A lot of hidden gems in this clip. I advise everyone to set aside 10 minutes of undivided attention and learn from this piff.

Tsetse fly - Wikipedia
Tsetse were absent from much of southern and eastern Africa until colonial times. The accidental introduction of rinderpest in 1887 killed most of the cattle in these parts of Africa and the resulting famine removed much of the human population. Thorny bush ideal for tsetse quickly grew up where there had been pasture, and was repopulated by wild mammals. Tsetse and sleeping sickness soon colonised the whole region, effectively excluding the reintroduction of farming and animal husbandry.

Someone find the thread where the Coli Communists were arguing that China is there to help Africa.

The argument a lot of people make is that the Chinese loans come with less “social requirements” as seen with the West. E.g. France will give a loan but the country has to alter its stance on LGBT issues etc.

Taking a Chinese loan is not bad per se, but you have to be able to PAY back the loan. Simple, if I sign a bad deal I can only blame myself. In this case, African leadership mist blame itself.

The Nairobi-Mombossa line is not a bad idea, it links Kenya’s two largest cities. There just has to be the requisite business demand to justify the economic cost.

This is where African leadership needs to invest heavily in STEM education. A solid generational plan could see African nations building their own trains and roads in 20 years. Simply source the raw materials beneath your feet. Refine them and build.

Simple truth is. For someone to be rich, someone else has to be poor. You want to be rich figure out how exploit someone else.

To be fair, Nigeria has the potential to be the foremost African and Black nation, which would do a world of benefit to how the African and Black man is perceived across the world, the problem at the moment is the myopic leadership.

Nigeria has the young energetic population, it has a well trained/educated population (engineers, doctors, business people etc) and it has a population that is business astute. We just need an administration that is ready to put petty politics aside and move the country forward. I think of Singapore in times like this. From 3rd world to 1st world in 1 generation.

Because Africa has dealt with centuries of people “doing good” only to take control of their resources. Furthermore the treatment of Africans by Chinese in their nations is poor, and the Chinese bring over their own poor laborers, therefore severely limiting the pool of jobs for locals.

We're not having the same conversation. In fact, you two and I are arguing very different things.

Nigeria needs to start taking over African countries

Nigeria needs to get its house in order and do so in a hurry. The 3 major powers in Africa, from what I know, are: Nigeria, Ethiopia, and South Africa (Azania). Emerging ones are: Ghana, Rwanda, and Tanzania. When the 1st 3 get its economies and govts in order, Africa will be a much better place. Hopefully, that will trigger the AU to make some real moves as well.

But none of this excuses African nations from screwing up a good deal because of incompetence.

exactly, Nigeria still has some faults and tribalism but capitalism has thrived well and if they partner with the Kenya's and the Ethiopia's of AFrica (and even South Africa) they could really create a united states of Africa fairly easily - the people will want it.

Man, what’s up with Nigeria? I remember in college, or maybe shortly after, I was reading about how it was in the next class of emerging countries behind BRIC...I wanna say their acronym was MINT. But then maybe in the past 2-3 years, I’ve seen articles on how Nigeria has stalled out or even reversed course. Is it the politcial leadership there?
