What I meant is after fall of the Western Roman Empire, it plunged the colonized Euro tribes (barbarians) back to their pre Roman way of life (dark ages). Which they wouldn’t emerge from until the Renaissance, 1000 years later.

Breh, those Euros you’re talking about were barbarians during the time of the Romans too. They were on the far peripheries of the Empire and at most were hired by the Romans to police other more volatile tribes. So they were only nominally colonized. It was those same barbarians that went on to sack Rome and bring the empire to an end.

The Chinese will learn long term that African citizens are not like their Asian counter parts. Just cuz our leaders write bad cheques doesn't mean we will cash them. Furthermore what the port makes annually is enough to pay off the railway debt in a short time span so even if this was to hypothetically happen it wouldn't be like their lease of shri lankan port for 99 years. The port has billions in revenue annually and it would pay off the debt in less than 10 years. So this poorly written trigger piece fails to hit it's mark.
