Y'all ever think that 45 being in office exposed the true nature of white americas causing ppl to either want to go above and being to help and ppl that are pure hateful Nazi's? I mean don't judge unless you have conclusive evidence. The lady that donated billions of dollars towards Haiti actually hates 45 and pretended to not know English nor engage in conversation. The black panther party had ppl of other backgrounds helping and being more beneficial than even some of our own ppl. Use your discernment instead of jumping to action and assuming right away. Our age is coming to rise, let's think it through and capitalize with our intellect.

NYC (but PGH will forever be home)
:comeon:
How? Because the us owe them $1trillion dollars in debt? You do know that's nothing to America, right? And that $1trillion is basically an investment (treasury, notes, & bonds). China would never demand their debt all at once. That would be dumb for both countries, other countries would step in and buy more treasuries. Or the government would just eat the L
How does China own the US

Well, a $300bln+ trade deficit with China doesn't help your argument.

Reading through thread and like expected A LOT of dumbass shyt from people who don't understand geopolitics,, investments or how the world works. Of course its easier to scream, "China is colonizing Haiti!" When in fact this is something many Haitians I know dreamed of who want Haiti to become self-sufficient.

China? I'm more scared of the dumbass Haitian elite who may make this worse than what happened to Jamaica. Infrastructure is a MUST for Haiti repeat a MUST and anyone who is against this is a moron. I long been waiting for Haiti to get the China deal that Africa has been getting. Some may disagree but look at North Sudan, Angola, Ethiopia and Tanzania. Chinese infrastructure has been setting off like wildfire in those countries[and I seen it first hand].

The bad thing is Haiti can be flooded with Chinese foreigners who will get an unfair advantage over the poor majority, the Chinese may hire only Chinese workers among other things. But thats if the Haitian government ALLOWS THAT!

Say it louder for those in the back, Chinas lack of concern for the environment even in their own country is alarming but these types of deals, if executed correctly(not all will be and some will be exploitative) could possibly be a future tipping point against WS.

Chicken Little sky is falling ass nikkas just want to scream "colonisation" instead of evauluating the issue at hand.

I do have some concerns given Haitis past exploitations but lets try and give them some credit.

At the end of the day I trust the US gov as much or little as I trust the Chinese.

They are even a lot more forward with their shyt instead of just acting nice like the US.
If the Haitian gov doesn't just fold and become pawns, this could be a win win situation.

Investing in developing countries is NOT the same thing as colonizing them. Nor is it the same thing as owning them.
This whole 'anytime Chinese people invest in a Black country that means slavery is coming back' narrative on here is counter productive.

As the capital of the African Diaspora, I always felt we should all have tried to help Haiti as a collective. Sad.

They're headed toward a major population crisis as a result of that policy.

The Chinese actually OVERPAY standard market rates for natural resources + build infrastructure.

There is definitely the potential for exploitation but likening what they do to colonization which included the buying/selling of people without any infrastructure built plus the takeover over sovereign societies cannot be compared.

Yeah, I actually had one of the early posts on it, echoing that same sentiment.

Jamaica isn't becoming a 'colony' of China, either.. That's some hyperbolic Dr. Johnson story.
There isn't a social hierarchy emerging that favors the Chinese, or allows them to extract capital based on OUR (or Jamaicans, if you're a tribalist) human and material resources (Which is what I would say modern colonization amounts to.). There aren't random Chinese regional governors or politicians that champion a neo-colonialist popping up (Think: Gupta's in SA.).

In the absence of those overtures, I cannot find anything to justify this assertion. This isn't Zimbabwe, non-black people can own land in our countries..

I absolutely understand that as Black people we need to be wary of 'outsiders', as they were, with regard to our own sovereignty, but if we shun any and all interaction, social, monetary and geopolitical, then we're effectively shutting ourselves out of an increasingly global market. Haiti needs investment, like anywhere else.. And nobody (not even us) have been able to effectuate that, China doing so is not a bad thing.
only dude here who gets it without spewing fear mongering and baseless colonization rhetoric

As long as the "Colonization" turns out to be a partnership, then MAYBE it might be positive for the people :francis:

Wow!!

This the first i've heard of the details behind Akon's electrical power initiative in Alkebulan and gotdamn he's really doing real shyt out there!!

Thank God for Akon. I hope more & more people follow in his footsteps.
:salute:
if i had the resources and connections even remotely like that, Africa would be the first place i would go. it's a damn shame so many people are so brainwashed about america being greater than it really is and looking down on the mother continent.
