The inventions of guns was a mistake 
Chino should have never let up on dude once he started letting them fades go. Even though he missed those two punches by the cooler, he still had the upper hand and momentum imo. May as well keep throwing until you land something, stay close enough to at least control the weapon. Backing up and giving dude space is like the worst thing you can do in that situation. Even when he backed off, it almost seemed like he had enough time to run outside. Those 2 seconds he used backing up and not doing anything were crucial.
and real talk, growing up fights were either finished because....
1. Somebody got knocked out
2. People broke it up
3. Or sirens/cops pulled up and everybody ran.
All this fighting and backing up on some wait and see shyt after only a handful of punches get thrown is some new era shyt. Dudes are legit backing off after not even hurting their opponent. Cats think this a movie where you gonna talk your way outta of a nikka shooting you after you stole on him.

Man with the gun clearly escalated the threat and level of violence.
Especially when the man backed away and he still shot multiple times.
