Really. My grandpa was from northern MS and my grandma was living in Port Gibson MS before moving north. Sadly, All of our family reunions are down there. It's hot, smelly, and boring out there. All I used to do over there was chill at the hotel. Everybody there is obese lol

My great grandpops moved from there at 15. Crackas had put a bounty on his head on some trumped up charges, he stopped by great grandmoms house before he left like "Aye is you rolling or not? But im gone, Im on the run G". She left her fam down there behind and rolled with him to Chicago.

Nothing but truth here...My grandmother's old hood and side of town was self sufficient up until the 90's. My mom went to an all black neighborhood pre-k and elementary school in her community. The neighborhood across the street and all black neighborhoods had the same protocol. A middle school was in neutral area. Black corner stores and farmers markets were on the front of all those "hoods". Fast forward to today, most of those schools are "magnet" schools and the neighborhood kids can barely enroll in that shyt. I don't even want to type about those historic corner stores.
