Its not about FORCING, its enjoying Spike Lee movies for the Guinness Extra Stoutness that they are. Using John Cusack as a father Micheal Pfelger like character, Nick Cannon as a gangster and freaking Jeniffer-whose family member was murdered in Chicago-Hudson as a protagonist, all smothered in the absurd school dazey type direction. What's there to hate? Tarantino took that shtick and made a killing on Inglorious Basterds.

Chicago residents sans gangbangers who are trashing the accuracy of a film called 'Chiraq' need to get their priorities straight, I'm pretty sure their most famous resident isn't proud of that term. To paraphrase Rock, you're not supposed to go to jail muthafukka!

The release date is curious. This is Oscar bait? Spike hasn't been in that lane since when ?Malcolm X?! Surprising, it's either this movie is really good or they banking on some controversy to elevate it to that level. This will be a bumpy ride.

Trailer looked awful but that doesn't really mean anything. I've seen terrible trailers for great movies and great trailers for terrible movies. I will check it solely off Spike Lee's name.

Having said that, I was hoping he'd do something like season 4 of "The Wire". But

Now the movie may or may not suck (though the trailer looked awful), but its amazing how people not from the city are trying to downplay the problems people who are actually from Chicago have with the portrayal. :whiteparadise:
