They’re purposely pushing all the popular Black singers to be trashy as hell.

This girl is TALENTED. Like, she can legitimately write, sing, produce, arrange music, play instruments.

She could’ve been to us what Taylor Swift is to her crowd. Cute young girl who actually makes her own music.

Some real demonic stuff happening in that industry.

White girls as a whole aren’t being pushed to be whores. They are directly influencing the community that is most easily influenced by media. Ugh
Exactly there's like 5 different white chicks I don't even know the name of but they aren't doing anything sexy at all

It's only Halle Bailey I think that's "whoelsome" and whatnot

i find this to be the dumbest move in r&b. in the 60's-early 00's, r&b artists made music to appeal to a broad age range...alicia keys did numbers because us in middle/high school were listening to her as well as people 50/60 years old. these dumb r&b singers today wanna make music for the most ratchet, narrow audience and then cry about flopping or hate on "other" race artists getting love for doing more traditional, cleaner r&b
They didn’t have a choice but to be broad because of how censored everything was. They couldn’t even show a married couple sleeping in the same bed or a toilet flushing on TV. Folks like Frankie lymon was singing wholesome bubblegum songs but was shooting heroin and running through bytches. There is so much more music today than in the past so there’s literally something for everyone. If artist want to Sing generic music more power to them but if someone wants to sing for a niche audience so that’s cool too:manny:

uhh...things weren't censored in the 80's - 00's and people still made music that could appeal acorss generations and rack up sales.

to your last sentence, that's cool and all, but these same artists, chlose included, stay crying about not selling, being shelved, they can't release music until hitting x-metric, etc, so yea, maybe it is a problem that they don't make more appealing music when they actually want to sell and have broad appeal :skip:

I prefer it the way it is today. Everyone trying to make music to please everyone is boring to me:manny:

ehh, there's a big difference between making a manufactured hit that's gone through algorithms to spit out a top 40 hit vs making authentic music that can be broadly enjoyed. MJB wasn't trying to please everyone, yet her music could be enjoyed by black r&b fans from 15-75. these kids hustling backward

If I was her father, I’d voice my disappointment.

If she rebuked me in response, I’d publish a newspaper editorial denouncing her music.

Last time I checked she was estranged from her father. She said that some time last year. Meanwhile Halle is not. She celebrated their dad's birthday not too long ago.

Looking at Halle's snippets it sounds more in line with their work as a duo. Chloe insists on leaning into the Summer Walker type music(without the authenticity) instead of what made them different in the first place.

:manny: We had boo’d up

And promptly stopped paying attention to Ella Mai after like 3 songs including this one.
You see it. Black women love denigrating us every chance they can in white media. We're always these evil bad "nikkas" when they want to integrate into white liberal society. They understand that people have massive negative bias against us (somehow most BM can't tho lol) and understand how to play on it.

Well I guess they learned from the best. Want to drag the female artists and the male artist denigrate both themselves and women

Perhaps due to her music
