I like some Chloe Halle songs. The solo stuff is not working much. Stop trying the same thing over.

Yall let that light skin and angles blind yall. She has no hips, no ass, just a full b-cup bra pushed up to her chin to make it seem like she got some knockers.

What that got to do with looks?

I still don't think the "bad girl" thing was the problem. If she had a hit nobody would care - the problem is she didn't, so people are gonna complain about it. The other problem was that the music just isn't good, didn't satisfy her fanbase and didn't build new fans.

I don't think it's a coincidence that nearly every black woman singer and rapper is dealing with the same problem. A lot of slick, hyper sexual videos that get a lot of views but very few actual hits. If they all had melodies like SZA we wouldn't be having this convo because they'd have hit records. But they don't, and they're all kind of just...existing. Same with a lot of the black woman rappers. Meanwhile white pop stars are actually releasing SONGS, racking up hits, making better videos, etc. It's night and day and you know what? It's gonna get worse now that labels are gutting "black" music execs.

The genre needs to move beyond the dynamic of the last decade plus where the best songwriters get gobbled up by Beyonce or Rihanna while everyone else recycles weak songs that depend on the video to make it blow up.
Its all related. You look at the direction and subject matter of her music. Her first two songs were literally dedicated to her ass. Then she cussing and doing all this sex talk (that doesnt come of as genuine at all). Is the focus there making a hit or shyt just quality music or shock value/cheap views? They leaned into her body not her talent. Chicks go the overtly sexual route out the gate because they dont have talent. She actually has it and its been wasted. Once you known for your ass, thats what you are to people. Her only hope is to come with some all time classic shyt that makes folks forget...which is unlikely since the label isnt backing her anymore. She got a lane with acting. Might as well go all in there.

I stand by my assertion that she went "bad girl" too soon out the gate. We all wanted to see that ass but you cant show it in the first video. I am legit fatigued by her prancing around in thongs and twerking at this point. I be like "Chloe showing her ass again :unimpressed: " when I should be like "Chole showing her ass? :krs: :leon:" at this point...just like I was with her foremothers (B and Ri). And moreover I dont get the feeling that she really bout that life either. Like you know Ri Ri a straight freak. She gives me awkward goody goody tryna be sexy vibes.

Would still beat it like it stole something.
I remember being like I remember seeing them performing National Anthems and stuff then I didn’t hear shyt from them… all of a sudden they’re out here singing and shaking ass. shyt had be befuddled and bewildered(all the big words) Like damn at least get your Alicia Keys on first then pivot. Don’t show the goodies as soon as you get grown :russ: As for the label stuff, well… people keep saying streaming is the thing now but obviously somebody is lying. Somehow selling cds and tapes was better than this. Artists seem to have it reeeeal bad now.

They split up to do their thing individually too early.

They had a much better brand working together.

It might be time for a reunion project as ChloexHalle.

Exactly. They both have a built up name now, so they can easily book shows in different cities and put out some albums. Nothing wrong with being an indie artist. Not everyone has to be on a label and cater to the mainstream, to be successful.
