Okay I get the plane thing is why he can't play cause he would have to travel but in general playing professional sports on blood thinners shouldn't be a problem for people, only reason I can think of is if they would start bleeding but unless it's a serious gash causing them to bleed a ton it wouldn't be something that couldn't be stopped. It's sounding like y'all are saying people on blood thinners can't even play ball at the court in a pickup game with friends.
isolated pickup games is probably fine but that nba schedule is no joke and he would have to be extra careful, he rich got a few rings why risk it? all it takes is one slip up, blood clots also cause strokes so unless he has found a way to avoid getting them then he should probably chill

I would recommend you do more research. Imagine suffering a head injury while you’re on a blood thinner. Let’s say you hit your head, much easier to suffer with bleeding on the brain on a blood thinner. Taking a blood thinner during physical activity is not an option. With blood thinners, it’s much easier to get cuts and bruises. Extremely difficult to stop the bleeding. Most importantly, you don’t want to hit your head AT ALL.

The best thing to do is work around it, which means if you are gonna play a sport, make sure it’s not in your system. That is the option Chris proposed to the Heat, but they weren’t going for it.

Ya nikkas joking now, but when Christopher returns, and leads the Lakers to # 17. I`m a laugh at you when he gets coach of the year.

I'm saying this cause I had blood clots before took Warfarin for them and was never told not to do any of this stuff and I know someone that had them in their lungs who isn't on them anymore and even flew around the same time, she also had a baby while having the blood clots and was taking blood thinners but she took the shots not pills. That's why the Bosh thing caught me off guard because everyone is talking like he has to be in a bubble and that was never the experience for me I was still active in my usual physical activities.

Probably poor doctors man. I’ve had clots and they weren’t going for any of that shyt. They were extremely selective about traveling, physical activity, etc. it sounds like they just gave you some warfarin and sent you on your way.

I know so much about this stuff, but I have no desire to give a lesson on a message board.

Just use common sense here. If it wasn’t a big deal, Bosh would be playing right? It’s obviously a big deal, hence he’s unable to play.

It’s catching you off guard, because you don’t know the dangers of taking blood thinners.

Again, as I stated in my previous post, playing on blood thinners is not an option. The key is working around it.

I’m sure the Lakers don’t need Bosh fukkin’ up their mojo by dying on the court and shyt. Just stay retired and enjoy life, man.

he would have to be cleared by an independent doctor appointed by the league and the NBAPA to deem him healthy to play....the same people that determined his unable to play a basketball career. It's the last year of his contract of the Heat/insurance paying out his contract.
