I miss the 2014-2015 cavs post trades. They played big boy ball with mozgov, love and TT dominating the boards and other front lines. That team while third in the league in 3s that year, wasnt as reliant on threes and didn't play the small ball that these cavs play.
The change came after that humiliating loss at home against golden state on MLK day. Blatt got fired and in cane Lue. Cavs tried to emulate golden state by going small. Benched mozgov for TT and started playing faster and using more small ball lineups with the acquisition of Channing Frye.
Last year's playoffs, especially the Hawks series gave the cavs this false sense . It spilled over into the season with the cavs being second in the league in 3 points. It's lazy ball and is why they can't hold on to leads. Instead of working the clock and taking high percentage shots, they keep bombing away and teams are able to come back quickly on them. I think the problem is Lue. He took the cavs from a big boy, pound you team to a finesse team that shoots too many 3s and plays small
