please enlighten me
Are you kidding me?

He sacrificed his career. He was stripped of his title and his boxing license was suspended. He lost millions of dollars. He was damn near broke and had to speak at colleges to earn money. He put his livelihood on the line for his religious beliefs.

"Prison or get his head blown off". You sound foolish. If he did join the military, he would've never saw combat like joe louis. He was famous. He would've been part of the Special Services Division doing Mickey Mouse shyt.

How old are you and are you black?

Or are you gonna sidestep this post too?

I been saying the same thing and once again

It’s people that looks like us dying to find something to say against him

not matter what the situation is

Remember all the David blatt fans that popped up

or the what about the “think about dan Gilbert’s pockets” mob

it’s transparent

I did not know so many black people really cared about Hong Kong

It’s mind blowing

Thank god someone finally answered. All I see is a smart decision. I’m not joining the army when it’s a war. And if Ted Williams was protected it’s no guarantee Ali wouldn’t be. It’s war anything can happen. Ali just made a smart decision imo

I’ll take my chances in the states than overseas

I think the reason people are coming for Bron is that his stance on HK doesn't align with all the positive things he's said and done over the years. You would "expect" Bron to be like 'I support those protesters and hope change is made" yada, yada, yada.

He supported the establishment/oppressors when he's never really done that before.

It's not fair but when you are the most famous athlete around, voicing controversial opinions will bring hate.

He shouldve pleaded ignorance like he did with Rice.
This but these online faux blacks look at Lebron like a father figure that can’t be critiqued. For better or worse if you always say your for this when you go opposite to that those that don’t like and those who are like what happened are going to come for your neck. Dudes stay trying this cacs and c00ns lazy bullshyt like that means shyt.

This board is embarrassing.

The lengths that some of y'all are willing to go, to willingly trap yourselves in a paradox, just to keep up appearances, is sad and pathetic. Hero worship in sports is a mental illness.

the ether
I am going to take the L and admit the bill was pulled.... you right on that

Plenty of Bron stans coming in here like hornets nest trying to defend his actions, even though if you being honest you would admit this was a stupid move on his part.

But i ain't going to lie and act like I am not already a Bron detractor.. never liked dude in the first place so it is easy for me to go in on him..

But I will admit in his defense I don't think dude knew wtf he was talking about and was solely protecting his bag.
If you see the very first comment I wrote after he said it I criticized him for it, and I criticized him for it several other times too.

But what I think is bullshyt is when people say he should shut up on other issues now just cause he said that about one issue. Or how they make it out to be something different than it was.

I think he might have been protecting his bag. He also might have been trying to protect the NBA and other players in general. We don't know all about what's been going on behind the scenes either.

He shouldve pleaded ignorance like he did with Rice.

He did. He literally said, "I don't know enough to speak on the issues at hand, let other people speak on that."

He didn't criticize Morey for being uniformed on Hong Kong, he criticized Morey for not thinking through the repercussions of his actions tweeting that shyt while they were in China.

I don't agree with what he said and think "no comment" would have been better, but there were other factors going on we might not know about.
