There was a thread last week saying he was on Michael Jacksons level![]()

usher struggled with 55 yr old Michael Jackson..hittin the mick jagger
. It’s about respect MJ was 40 and it’s called respecting you OG![]()
MJ and hammer had phone conversations, are peers and hammer grew up being a fanfukk that hammer wanted to hurt em.. hammer got the pass and mike avoided hammer til he died

Post “the numbers” from a credible source. I’ve seen too many different numbers thrown around from his stans. If we are going by digital then Chris has surpassed Michael Jackson and the Beatles . No on respects streaming certifications. 140 million is a bullshyt number and false
I'm pretty sure Usher outsold Chris Browns whole catalog with 1 album unless you're including singles which doesn't really have a factor with Usher.
You can use Wikipedia, just like you did for the other “stats” and see that Usher wrote a large portion of his own songs and some songs for other artists.
Also, if Confessions was released in the streaming music age I’m confident he’d surpass Chris Brown. The way they calculate album sales today kind of makes it hard to compare artists whose prime didn’t happen during this era.
Singles count for all artists. Which of Ushers albums went 14x Diamond? Because that's what it would require to outsell CBs catalog (he's sold 140M albums) 14x Diamond is something the Beatles and MJ haven't even pulled off on 1 album.
Do you really think Chris Brown has sold 140 million "albums" breh?
I don't remember the formula but 1 single doesn't equal 1 album. You can sell 5 singles and it wouldn't equal 1 album sale but if you count albums and singles as individual sales the math won't equate. In reality I think you have to sell something like 10 singles to equal and album. So eben if Chris Brown sold 170 million "records" that's singles and albums combined and misleading. I looked at Chris Brown's sales and I think his pure album sales are somewhere around 6 or 7 million and we all know Usher has 2 albums that sold over 8 million each. So somewhere the numbers are skewed to look like Chris is up there but he doesn't have the pure numbers. I gotta add though, that's nothing to laugh at, that's a shyt ton of sales, just nowhere near Usher.
Thriller sold more than 14 million! What are you talking about? That's false by RIAA calculations, as RIAA has the Beatles at 500+ Million and Michael Jackson at 450+ Million. Where are you pulling that from and do you realize that digital streams count for all artists? Including when old people stream the Beatles (which they do en masse).
I'm pulling from this list that has a Bibliography
You ever going to refute one of my points or are you just going to keep throwing up unsubstantiated talking points?

I stand corrected. I didn't realize that Usher had written that much of his music. It's impressive. He still hasn't written as many hits as CB has for other artists tho.
Older artists music lasted for a long period in a situation where people were more willing to buy music. Nas waited months to drop Ether. In the modern situation he'd be consider slaughted with a response time like that.. An artist can drop an album and in 3-4 weeks everyone's moved on because of short attention spans. If Usher (or any artist) had to compete with that now he may have even less albums sold based on how flooded the industry is and how it last two seconds before everyone's on to the next thing.
It works both ways.

A bunch of babbleUshers 75 million count by the RIAA is singles and albums too. You're acting as if the way the RIAA does its count magically changed and it hasn't except to include the effect of streaming which has made it harder for artists to sell music. The fact is no one buys music anymore they stream. In Ushers prime you had to either get a bootleg, borrow from a friend or buy the album. Now you can stream on your favorite site or if you dont have an account go on YouTube.
The streaming/download formula is 10 song downloads or 1500 streams equal 1 album sale.
Which means an artist has to get 1.5 Billion streams or 10 million song downloads to go platinum on an album. Which means if Usher dropped 'My way' or '8701' right now he would need 12 Billion streams or 80 million song downloads to be certified sell 8x platinum. It's rare for a hip hop or rnb artist to go platinum now, only 4 did this year. in Ushers time it was common. Nowadays If you're not Adele or Bruno Mars it's impossible.
CB would've been a bigger artist sales wise if he had come out in Ushers time because it would've been easier to sell albums. Why do you think record labels came up with the 360 deal? It's because streaming has made it so much harder to monetize and sell albums and they started tapping other artist revenue generators.
