I'd say you can see/believe int his debate from both sides, but the control piece also sounds like some conspiracy illuminati shyt as well. Humans by nature seem to want to have things under control, even when they're living paycheck to paycheck worrying, they want to believe they at least understand how things work.
With that being said, when you have masses believing blindly everything they're told like "why would the government/news lie? " It just destroys the entire fabric of their reality.
