Started with breaking the sound barrier...... 700 miles per hour.

Then being able to leave the atmosphere with the space shuttle program

In the movie they have found the way to travel at "Interstellar" speeds...which means we can cross light years now

lol @ "mental capacity" being a requirement for Nolan's films. Dude can't go five minutes without having his characters explain everything to the audience, and in terms of directing he's like modern day Ridley Scott. His technical skill is unmatched, but the guy's cinematic style is dry as rock salt.

Agreed. The amount of exposition and hand holding in his movies is second to none. Not all of us like everything to be explained to us repeatedly as if we are retarded which is why something like 'Inception' is borderline un-watchable to me.
