That's $74 million on just 6 guys already. Salary cap was $99 million. So even if CP3 hadn't asked for the slightest raise at all, just resigning him to the same salary would have already capped out the Rockets.

What did you want him to do, take a huge pay cut to $20 million so that the Rockets would have had all of....$5 million to spend? Tell him to give up $20 million a year so the Rockets could sign one $5 million player when the Warriors still had Durant-Curry-Klay-Draymond-Cousins-Iggy?
