It all depends on what you're looking for but Chris Paul is certainly a valid choice for best PG in the NBA. That being the case I don't see how he's overrated unless someone is calling him the best PG ever. That would be different.

Keep in mind CP3 is a helluva defender too.

If by that you mean 2 top 5 PGs were able to have success against him then I would respond by pointing out those are 2 of the top 5 PGs.

Now having said that, Paul is certainly a better defender than both those guys and most any other PG you wanna bring into this discussion. And his 2.5 steals per game and multiple All Defense selections can surely help attest to that.
