i really think that movie may be the one. We've gotten our zombie fix the past few years on TV but boyle dropped the ball not releasing 28 months later

so this may fill that void

even if theyre not really zombies you get my point

possibly MGS too as @obarth stated but thats my fav franchise ever so i'm praying its good

What was so special and different about the story? Only thing people say is because it was told in a video game as opposed to a movie. Please explain it almighty one i'm always here to learn.

The Resident Evil movies were relatively successful. A Last of Us movieAll it takes is a good script, good director and the right IP and it's a wrap. Fading stars in need of a Downey Jr-esque resurrection will take the risk. Uncharted has a chance to be an Indiana Jones reboot without being an Indiana Jones reboot. There really are so many franchises that could transition to the big screen. All it takes is a little creativity. Plus the odds of "video game movie fatigue" happening would be extremely low because each franchise would be radically different from the other as opposed to superhero movies which pretty much follow the same formula.

Basically. There's absolutely no reason video game movies can't be the next thing to blow. You have one complete story pre-made, so you don't have to choose a particular arc like you do with comics. You don't have to deal with acquiescing to over bearing comic book nerds who'll complain if a character is too short or his origin story isn't the exact same. The possibility for creating franchises exists due to all the video game sequels out there. All they need is a big enough franchise that can attract a good director, and video game movies could be the next big thing. Maybe Metal Gear Solid could be that franchise.

the warcraft movie will be the first "game changer" in the game-to-movie scene.
