I'm not mad at it,but I would have liked it to be less about the Oscars,black Hollywood couldve just said due to the lack of diversity we are going to start supporting our own award shows more and work to give them the credibility they deserve.....and not just said it,but actually did it.

This is basically asking for the Oscar to give you some token/affirmitave action nominations/wins next year,so that you can come right back and smile like its all good with some kind of dignity

I hope its a serious commitment though,prove me wrong please

All I'm saying is it ain't hard to boycott an award show you aren't nominated for. I wonder if Will Smith had the nominations he wanted would these same folks still be saying we aren't going because this isn't enough? That would mean more to me at least than crying foul because a seemingly Oscar bait movie got ignored by the academy. There's famous white people who have never won either take Leo for example. He might get one this time but it's been a while and he's never won.
