"From 1990 to 1994, Ice Cube was unquestionably the best rapper in the world -- without peer."

This is ridiculously true.

I remember Chuck D saying that "Chris Rock knows more about Hip Hop than the average so-called Hip Hop fan". And he was right. Opinions are whatever, but dude knows his music. Not just Hip Hop, but music in general.

The thing with favorite albums is that it's not about the nitpicky robotic shyt nikkas talk about as their 'criteria' for a classic or whatever-the-fukk.

The way people rank albums sometimes (and artists too) is like the equivalent of Lord Jamar's statements about Eminem as an MC.

Even Chris Rock has said it in reference to who his favorite rappers are... "I'm not talkin' about what it looks like written on a piece of paper, I'm talkin' about how it sounds and feels".

I think a lot of times, nikkas just put certain albums in their shyt because it's SUPPOSED to be that way... that's why I :heh: whenever he or a rapper or whoever lists their favorite shyt and nikkas start :beli: "GTFOH, where's ________"

This is why unless a nikka's just listing what he's "supposed" to say, everybody's favorite album list is gonna differ from everyone else's. Nowhere is it in stone that Illmatic HAS to be there, a 2Pac album HAS to be there, a Biggie album HAS to be there, etc. There was a time when 'Nation of Millions' was the default "greatest hip-hop album ever" before 90s nostalgia kicked in... how many super 90s heads have even taken the hour to listen to 'Nation of Millions'? If you ask someone about 41 years old or so, you HAVE to have THAT as one of your favorites. It's all subjective at the end of the day.

One of my favorite albums is Diamond D's "Stunts Blunts & Hip-Hop". I enjoy it more than a lot of MCs' shyt that are way better than him. I don't like Big L's album more than that album, or any album by AZ. It doesn't mean Diamond D >>> Big L or AZ lyrically, it just means Diamond (IMO) put together a better hour of music in 1992 than Big L did in 1995 or AZ did ever. :manny: Is this a hard thing to believe?

Don't get me wrong Doe Or Die gets off to a great fukkin' start... but by the end, eh. The good stuff is the shyt, but everything else is disposable. Even 'Your World Dont Stop', cause the OG of that is :whew: but that album version... eh.

that might be the only song i skip on that album.

diamond d's joint is the one that really drags. shouldve made it into a 14-15 track LP.

Only drawback is the lil' skit shyts. Minus those, it's 16 tracks. Only one I don't care for... :yeshrug:
