That championship along with that roster was more than enough to cement his status...The Mavs didn't even have a top 5 NBA roster that season.

I've always been impressed with him. He had the Pacers lookin like they could get a title. Then that Mavs team had no business beating the Heatles.

I'm all for giving coaches props for coming up with plays and getting those team to buy in, but I look at that run more of Dirk shooting lights out and enabling the other match ups to create nightmares and expose the Heat lack of depth. Maybe I'm just sour on Rick, but I don't think that series should elevate that guy that high

Nah he's overrated. And he seems like a pretty big a$$hole, and even though Dallas has top of the line everything for players, they still can't seem to land big free agents (had to settle for parsons)
