I didn't say he won't stop evil. He can stop evil. God saved Daniel while he was in the lion's den. God saved Shaddrach, Meshach and Abednigo from being consumed in a furnace.
It depends on what His will is. What if I get get killed? Was all my time worshiping and praying to God useless? If it is in His will, because there's a higher purpose, then so be it. What if someone I loved died by a killer? Was all my time worshiping and praying to God useless? His ways are always higher. I may not know the reason ever until I go to heaven. I do not control God. It's not my will to be done. I can ask God through prayer for things. If my prayers are in line with God's will, then that is good. If I ask for a million dollars tax-free, a new Ferrari, and power to fly, is that in line with God's will? Or is it selfish motives?

What I am saying is that when we see humans doing evil things, it is because God has given man free will.
If we see something that seems to be evil, like a Christian who is a good person getting eaten by a shark, it's part of God's will and we as humans may not understand why or how it fits into the bigger picture of God's will. God sent His own Son to be sent to earth to be wrongly accused, tortured and killed. That alone, face value, is evil. Why did he allow that evil to happen? The end result is Christ dying on the cross so that all men can be saved. If God intervened and stopped that evil, then Christ would not have died for our sins.

Prayer is a conversation with God. He is my heavenly father. Christians can talk to God. It's like having a conversation with a friend or relative. If you don't talk to God, then there's no expectation for God to do anything. If you don't talk to friends, co-workers, relatives, strangers, then you should have no expectation of a response except maybe you are a dikk for not talking to them.

i'm a christian and most of them make me uncomfortable too. esp the over zealous over bearing ones that talk about god or "the lord" in every sentence. meh.

Perfect. That's the desired response. That's just satan squirming inside of you when confronted with righteousness. Darkness cannot exist in light friend. The devil gets very uncomfortable when around believers. That feeling you have let's me know we are doing our jobs.

There is nothing more awe inspiring than watching a fundamental/conservative believer vs a liberal believer. Guaranteed the conversation is going to end with "well thats how I feel/what I believe."

Religious folks don't even see that its not even agnostics & atheist that poke holes in their faith. Its really your own followers.
