1 John 5:16/17

16 "If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it."

17 "All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death."

all sin is equal...

Not true at all. All sin is only equal in the sense that it makes everyone equally unworthy of meeting God's holy standard.

But sins have varying degrees of wickedness. There is a whole book in the bible dedicated to placing punitive value & retribution requirements for the various degrees of sin.

The bible also makes it clear that neither Hell or Heaven will be the same experience for everyone, as all we be judged on how evil one lived for those hell bound & on the quality of good works one did in his lifetime for those heaven bound.

On the OP: I'd say that homosexuality is probably similar to that of fornication & adultery. The larger point is that a "so-called" Christian wouldn't try to justify their sin as being ok, and should be repentant. While the homo may be try to justify their actions as not being wrong at all.

But a homo christian that is struggling with their issues and is trying to turn from that lifestyle, is in the same boat as the "Christian" fornicators, if they be also repentant.

No, other people's sin is always more egregious than our own. This is why I can't take cafeteria Christians (the vast majority) seriously when they get on their homophobic and anti-abortion screeds. Religion has served it's purpose for our people. I think it's high time to put down the fairy tales forced upon our ancestors and begin to see things as they really are.

But that's just me.

You have to repent, go and sin no more.

There's a reason in the Bible although David was a alduterer, lustef and even set up Uriah to be killed. Because he repented.

That's God's love. No one is perfect, everyone is like filthy rags

Every sin is the same in gods eyes , just ask for forgiveness :yeshrug:

And being gay is basically being a open pervert and corrupts your character :francis:

I sin all the time , but I always ask for forgiveness

Nobody really touch on idolatry in the christian church. :jbhmm:

If they did, :wow:

It's touched on all the time. People make idols of many things that they value higher than God. You got people that idolize their cars & other material things in the way they value & treat it. You got people that idolize their trophy wives and so on.
