Thats a misleading train of thought...It would be a different world without spanish imperialism but they weren't responsible for most of the slave trade either..It was the french and British who colonized the new world that way.And who is to say Africa would not be doing better than Asia if it wasnt subjected to slave trade and colonialism...maybe there would be no mud huts
You underestimate the impact of the devastation the slave trades of the Cacs and the Muslim sand cacs had on Africa..30-40 million people were kidnapped and taken away in the space of 300 or so years..and how much disruption that caused to social structures
Then figure that for everyone they captured another African was probably killed..either fighting for their life or a child whose mother is taken or a dependent old person left on their own
